The Warner Center in Los Angeles has seen skyrocketing prices over the past couple months, pushing Los Angeles officials to consider new affordable housing rules for the area.
Last week, the L.A. City Council asked planning staffers to consider new development requirements for the area to construct new affordable housing for the community.
Currently the average price for an apartment in the area is $2,200 per month, a 6 percent increase from last year’s rent. Over the past five years, prices have soared upwards of 33 percent.
The planning staff will report back to the council in the next upcoming weeks with recommendations on how to address affordability in the area.
