Officials Cut Ribbon on Brookside Residences, Cuyahoga Fall’s Newest Mixed-Income Senior Housing Community

A gathering of city officials, including Mayor Don Walters and Kelan Craig, Director of Planning, Preservation and Development (PP&D) at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), joined representatives from The NRP Group, a vertically integrated, best-in-class developer, builder, and manager of multifamily housing, to celebrate the grand opening of Brookside Residences, Cuyahoga Fall’s newest mixed-income senior housing community.

“The opening of Brookside Residences symbolizes a great resurgence for not only the active seniors in our community, but for the entire city,” said Mayor Don Walters. “We will continue to see a flow of interest and investment all around the area.”

The ribbon-cutting marked the opening of the 62-unit development and the continuous effort by The NRP Group and the City of Cuyahoga Falls to meet the growing demand of new and innovative housing for seniors in the community.

Developed by The NRP Group, the four-building plus clubhouse garden-style community on 2.6 acres at 400 Pleasant Meadow Boulevard comprises 62 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, with 54 units set aside as affordable.

Each home at Brookside Residence features a fully-equipped kitchen, a modern open living area, walk-in closets and amenities to appeal to residents. Residents have direct access to the property management office, community room with a fireplace that can be reserved by residents for private gatherings, fitness center, pet washing station, activity room and an onsite clinic that will be serviced by a range of providers.

Common areas will feature paintings by Susan Check, an artist doing a series on the Cuyahoga River in northeast Ohio.

“At the NRP Group, we are proud to continue our mission of bringing affordable and high quality senior housing to local communities in our home state of Ohio,” said Aaron Pechota, Senior Vice President of Development at The NRP Group. “Brookside Residences is a development that represents our ongoing efforts to include key amenities that will benefit our residents. With the planned onsite clinic, exercise and activity rooms we are confident Brookside’s new residents will see a boost in their overall quality of life.”

The NRP Group developed Brookside Residences in partnership with a 9% tax credit program from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.
