James Beard Award-winning chef and author Kwame Onwuachi is bringing bold flavors and vibrant energy to New York City with the debut of Patty Palace by Chef Kwame at Time Out Market New York, Union Square (124 E. 14th Street New York, NY 10003).

Known for his culinary storytelling and deep connection to Caribbean and African diasporic traditions, Onwuachi’s newest concept spotlights the beloved Jamaican patty—reimagined with his signature creativity. Fillings include curried chicken, beef and jerk mushroom, tucked into coco bread with ginger-cabbage slaw, jerk BBQ sauce and green seasoning aioli, served alongside his sparkling water brand, Miri. Patty Palace promises to bring a taste of island warmth to New York’s most dynamic new food and cultural market.

To mark the grand opening, guests joining between 12–2pm on Saturday, September 27th will enjoy a special launch-day treat: with every patty purchased, they’ll receive a second one—on the house—while supplies last. The celebration will be as vibrant as the flavors.

“Food is about joy, history, and community,” says Onwuachi. “Patties carry all of that—I grew up eating them in the Bronx after school and with my family, and I’m thrilled to share this next chapter with New Yorkers at Time Out Market Union Square.”

Time Out Market Union Square brings together the best of the city together under one roof, curated by Time Out editors and tastemakers who know New York best. The addition of Patty Palace adds another exciting dimension to the Market’s lineup of celebrated chefs and emerging talent.
