New York City might not actually be that large in size, but its abundance of culture, couture and cuisine can make it feel like there’s a lot of ground to cover. And sifting through it all can be quite daunting. But don’t worry, we did that all for you and found some of the best things NYC has to offer this month.
Grand Opening of Augustine

From Keith McNally, one of the most influential restaurateurs of the last 50 years, comes Augustine—a classic French restaurant with exquisite dishes and décor. With chefs Shane McBride and Daniel Parilla in the kitchen, the restaurant will serve classic dishes, such as escargot, mushroom tart, and a seafood dish with “petite aioli.” While New Yorkers anxiously await the opening of Augustine, Keith McNally chooses to take his sweet time to design a dining room fit for any picture-perfect moment. Set to open late September.

Floating Oyster Bar

From the creators of Grand Banks, one of the city’s most famous floating bars, comes Pilot, Brooklyn’s newest addition. With yet another floating bar to sip champagne and summer-inspired cocktails on, finishing out the dog days of summer is sure to be a breeze (quite literally). Docked at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pilot is open for the season. The transformation of a historic 1920s racing schooner has officially become a chic dining and drinking experience.

NYC Broadway Week

NYC Broadway Week will feature some of Broadway’s best-known shows. Two-for-one tickets can be purchased for shows such as the Lion King, Aladdin, Wicked, Chicago, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. New, critically acclaimed shows such as 1984 and Groundhog Day are also participating.
This year marks the seventh anniversary since the first NYC Broadway Week, according to tourism officials. “Attending a live Broadway performance is an iconic New York City experience, and NYC Broadway Week allows everyone the chance to enjoy a show at a great value,” Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company, said in a statement. “With one million NYC Broadway Week tickets sold since the program began over six years ago, NYC & Company is proud to support the Broadway community as well as offer New Yorkers and visitors addition access to the performing arts.”
Two-for-one tickets can be purchased through NYC & Company’s website by using the special cod BWAYWK. Theatergoers also have the option of purchasing upgraded seats for an additional $20 per ticket.
