The Blue Card Raises Over $40,000 To Assist Holocaust Survivors With Rent And Other Necessities

The Blue Card hosted its 6th Annual Young Leadership Cocktail Reception at Sunset Terrace, Sky Rink-Pier 61, Chelsea Piers.

More than 150 guests attended the event, raising funds to meet the financial needs of Holocaust survivors living in the United States. The cocktail reception is a vital part of The Blue Card’s mission to aid approximately 2,500 Holocaust survivors, 67 percent of whom cannot leave their homes without assistance and more than half of whom fall 200 percent below the poverty line.

The event raised over $40,000 in support of programs that assist the survivors with costs of rent, medicine, homecare, food, and other necessities.

The Blue Card is the only national organization with the sole mission of helping Holocaust survivors. Through the organization’s ongoing efforts, fostering the Young Leadership Committee, it has created the opportunity for younger generations to also honor the brave individuals.
