A longtime mental healthcare facility overlooking the Port of Los Angeles may potentially be redeveloped.
The property was placed on the market last year as a prime waterfront location that could be converted to new housing opportunities. Last week a developer filed plans with the city to convert the building to a residential apartment complex.
In addition to the residential units, the complex would also included upwards of 15,000 square feet of commercial space. However, the conversion will have to be thoughtfully done as the building is considered a Los Angeles landmark.
