John Thain Lists Park Avenue Pied-a-Terre for $39.5M

John Thain, former Merrill Lynch CEO, purchased his Park Avenue pied-a-terre with his wife back in 2006 for $27.5 million.

The exclusive duplex, designed by Rosario Candela and previously home to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and John D. Rockefeller Jr., is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom with a private elevator and Central Park views.

Thain and his wife also own a Westchester estate in which they spend most of their time, telling the Times that while they love the Park Avenue duplex, they just don’t spend enough time there. The couple gave the duplex a price boost too, for a whopping $39.5 million.
