The Plaza Hotel, a coveted New York destination on the West Side, has had many owners since its opening in 1907, including Donald Trump and the high-end Hilton Group.
In 2012 the Plaza Hotel was purchased for $575 million by Sahara Group, but soon after the owner was jailed and needed money for bail, putting the luxury hotel on the market again.
Now, Ashkenazy Acquisition, a global real estate company, along with Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal, are looking to purchase the hotel for a whopping $600 million—a $25 million increase from its 2012 purchase.
The sale is expected to reach completion by this summer.
