During our recent December visit, we at The Destination Designer had the good fortune to experience, first-hand, the unparalleled service of Le Coucou. After a warm greeting from the front desk staff, we were ushered to our cozy and well-appointed suite. It boasted jaw-dropping views of the snow-covered Alpine peaks and valley below, easily enjoyed from our chalet-style balcony. With few details over-looked, we were particularly impressed with the welcome amenities, including ski socks, slippers, and a delicious bottle of wine and sweet treats.

For the skiers in our group, the ski room set itself apart and was a true delight, making the often unpleasant task of renting equipment a breeze. Providing customized fittings and state-of-the-art technology, we were in and out fast. This enabled us to enjoy our first evening at the hotel’s chic bar and, after, a fun and buzzy dinner at Beefbar, located on the property.

In the morning, Le Coucou has an amazing buffet breakfast with an impressive selection of la carte options. Snacks and warm drinks were available in the ski room for those hitting the slopes early. Meanwhile, the non-skiers in the group retreated to Le Coucou’s incredible spa. After an indulgent massage, you can relax in the heated indoor pool, hammam, or jacuzzi.

Lunch allowed both skiers and non-skiers to gather on the mountain using the nearby gondola or back at the hotel. With temperate weather and sunny skies, we shed layers, enjoyed local Savoyard fare, and discussed the day’s excitement.

After a thrilling day on the slopes, we returned to the hotel and handed off our ski gear to the friendly staff who will prepare your equipment for the next day’s excursion, a luxury that truly enhances the overall experience. If you are feeling adventurous, inquire about private ski lessons. We did and the instructors were superb. The ski room staff will expertly guide you.

This bespoke service ensures that guests make the most of their time on the mountains, gaining confidence and skill under the direction of seasoned professionals. From beginners eager to learn the basics to advanced skiers looking to conquer challenging terrain, Hôtel Le Coucou’s commitment to personalized experiences ensures that every moment on the slopes is both thrilling and enriching.

After four nights of superb service, top-notch skiing, delicious dining, and unique excursions, we sadly had to say goodbye to Le Coucou, although we will not be long to return.
