Join The Museum of Jewish Heritage in a virtual walking tour through Regensberg.
Home to one of the oldest Jewish communities in Central Europe, Regensberg, Germany is situated at the meeting point of the Danube, Naab, and Regen Rivers. This livestreamed, virtual walking tour will begin by exploring fifteenth and sixteenth century remnants in the city’s former Jewish quarter. We’ll see a once-hidden former Mikvah, and learn the history of the city’s synagogue. Our guide will take us from the Middle Ages to the early modern period, exploring migration patterns and the Nazi deportations. Finally, get to know the new Jewish community, which is roughly sixty years old, and a vital part of the city today. Co-presented with Wowzitude.
