Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids launch a new collection with tennis champion and design powerhouse, Venus Williams. The expansive assortment of nearly 200 pieces of furniture, decor and textiles translates the heritage, elegance and energy of tennis into a distinctly modern expression of home and lifestyle.
The Crate & Barrel whole home collection draws from the visual language and traditions of the sport—its geometry, movement, color and sense of ceremony. Influences from the avante garde spirit of Italian design bring another dimension to the assortment, balancing beauty and function with confident color, rich materiality, innovation and an expressive approach to form. This is specially showcased in the Second Serve Stone and Metal Chandelier, which is inspired by the suspended trajectory of a tennis ball at the moment of the serve toss. Its inspiration is specific, but the final object is abstract and architectural, featuring a combination of burnished brass, onyx and travertine.
Designed to ace their space, the Crate & Kids collection blends playfully athletic details with Venus’ favorite color, lavender, contrasted by the iconic neon green of a tennis ball. Spherical shapes are abundant as a nod to the tennis ball highlighted in the design of the Break Point Round Ivory Wood Kids Play Table and Members Only Accent Chair. The tennis themed assortment features whimsically sporty pieces to create a vibrantly unique room designed to inspire the next generation of dreamers and athletes.
